About Elissa
Hi, I’m Elissa! I’m a passionate, fully qualified teacher (QTS, PGCE) with a BSc in Chemistry and specialist qualifications in English and Phonics. Teaching isn’t just my profession—it’s what I love doing every single day.
Over the years, I’ve found my real niche in working with students who feel disengaged, overwhelmed, or simply don't enjoy school. Every student learns differently, and my goal is to break down complex topics in Science, English, and Maths into clear, approachable, and engaging lessons. By building confidence and creating a warm, supportive environment in my Hurworth home, I help students rediscover their curiosity and achieve amazing results—often boosting their GCSE performance by two full grades or more.
Whether working with homeschooled pupils during the day or providing after-school tuition, I am dedicated to making learning something your child genuinely looks forward to.

Elissa provided tutoring on a one-to-one basis in person to my daughter for GCSE Chemistry, Physics, and Biology as she was struggling.
