About Ryan

Hi, I’m Ryan, a qualified Chemistry teacher with over 7 years of experience teaching GCSE and A-Level Chemistry in UK schools.

I hold a PGCE and QTS, and I'm passionate about making Chemistry both accessible and engaging for all my students.

Throughout my teaching career, I’ve worked with a diverse range of students, helping them overcome challenges and build the confidence they need to succeed. I’m particularly skilled at breaking down complex concepts and tailoring my approach to match each student's learning style. Whether you need help with specific topics, exam preparation, or general understanding, I can guide you through it.

I’m a member of The Tutors' Association and I’m fully DBS certified, ensuring that I offer both professional and safe tutoring. I’m committed to helping you achieve your goals and will provide you with all the support you need, both during lessons and between sessions.

My lessons are interactive, student-focused, and designed to make Chemistry feel less intimidating. I believe that with the right guidance and a solid study plan, every student can succeed.

I am passionate about my role as an educator. I think teachers are in a privileged position to be able to work with young people and have a positive impact on their lives, in school and beyond.

Through my experience and enthusiastic nature, I have been able to get students the grades they deserve.

About the lesson

In each lesson, I tailor the content to meet your individual learning needs, ensuring that each session is focused on your strengths and areas for improvement.

My approach is interactive, engaging, and designed to help you build both confidence and a deep understanding of the subject.

What to expect:

- Personalised lessons: Every lesson is designed to target your unique
learning style, whether you prefer visual aids, hands-on examples, or
theoretical explanations.

- Clear explanations: I break down complex concepts into manageable
parts and provide detailed explanations for both theory and practical
application, ensuring you fully grasp each topic.

- Exam-focused learning: We’ll review past exam questions, practice
exam techniques, and work on problem-solving strategies to ensure you
feel prepared and confident.

- Interactive learning: You’ll be actively involved in the lesson through
screen annotations, problem-solving, and explaining concepts back to
me—this helps reinforce what you've learned.

- Homework and study planning: After each lesson, I'll assign relevant
practice exercises or revision material, and provide feedback to track
your progress and improvement.

I am here to help you succeed and will adjust the pace and difficulty of lessons according to your needs. Whether you need help with specific topics, exam preparation, or general understanding of Chemistry, I am happy to help!

Perfect! Ryan has just started tutoring my daughter for her Applied Science BTec (year 13). From the first lesson, it has become clear that Ryan will be able to help her comprehend the complex scientific experiments and consolidate her knowledge. He is helping her reach answers on her own, which I think is the mark of a true teacher. Very happy we have found Ryan, I would highly recommend him.

Ryan's response
Sophia was very good at stating the basic terms from the wave topic. We looked at transverse and longitudinal waves. She gave very concise answers which conveyed the correct information. I look forward to our next lesson together.

Ryan's response
I spoke to Jenny (mother) for five minutes and they explained that their daughter was too anxious to go on the call. Sadly, this means we will not be having lessons together in the future. I wish them the best of luck in finding a tutor

Ryan's response
They were very good at conveying what they need to work on. We went through an overview of titration and how to convert from g/dm3 to mol/dm3 in contextual questions.

Ryan has been such a phenomenal help, as a single dad helping with homework can be hard enough. The sciences are not my thing and, a little while back, around exam time I decided to reach out to help my boy. Ryan's help has not only gone as far as my boy getting great results, he has gained confidence and skills that get him recognised in class. But Ryan had the patience and skillset to also help me understand the material so that I can be there for my son. This experience has actually brought us closer together, and with A levels coming up soon we are confident we can get the results he needs. So all the best to Ryan, we couldn't recommend him enough!!
