About Olivia
I graduated school with A-Levels in Music, Maths, English, and Geography from Repton School in Derbyshire, and am now currently studying Bachelor of Music (BMus) at Leeds University.
I am a proactive, inquisitive person with experience performing at events and well under pressure. Throughout my education, I have shown constant dedication to my studies, while maintaining my extracurricular activities outside of my academics. This is shown through my determination to learn and improve my skills which I feel has enabled me to achieve my grade 8 in Flute and Singing, as well as a Diploma in Musical Theatre. This attitude subsequently led me to achieve a Choral Scholarship, an Exhibition Scholarship for Drama and a representative for Staffordshire County Hockey up to under 18’s. Furthermore, I believe I have an analytical mindset, and possess the right attributes to make quick, concise opinions and arguments from limited information. These skills have been developed from my Combined Cadet Force training, whereupon I attained the status of Lance Corporal. I feel I am highly organized and structured in my approach to work, which I feel I have shown through maintaining my extracurricular activities. I have an outgoing and adventurous personality, indicated by my passion for hockey, musical theatre, and rock climbing, which I feel helps me to interact with people and help them to my best ability.
My past work experience has included babysitting, tutoring, Front of House at the Rep Carpet Cinema in Barton and Sales and Marketing in Leeds for events in clubs.

My teaching method is a more practical approach, I believe that the more active you are, the better the learning outcome. Regarding teaching voice and flute, I would suggest potential repertoire that I believe suits that particular student the most appropriately.
Regarding singing lessons- by teaching vocal techniques and covering the Alexander technique this will help reduce any risk of damage.
I personally believe that Music Theory is best taught through practical means, including a piano and musical excerpts, helping the theory side come alive.
I am looking to teach up to grade 5 music theory, and up to grade 8 in singing and flute.
