About Ali-Shaan
I am Ali-Shaan, a first-year Medical Student at the University of Birmingham. Having achieved A*A*A* in A-Level Biology, Chemistry, and Maths, 7 Grade 9s at GCSE, and a 95th percentile (Top 5%) UCAT score, I understand exactly what it takes to excel in high-stakes exams. I teach because I know that hard work alone isn't enough—students need precise mark-scheme mastery and efficient study systems to reach top grades. My lessons focus on mark-scheme mastery and active recall rather than passive re-reading. Having achieved A*A*A* at A-Level in Biology, Chemistry, and Maths, 7 Grade 9s at GCSE, and a 95th percentile (Top 5%) UCAT score, I teach students the exact exam techniques needed to score maximum points. In a typical 1-hour session, we spend 10 minutes on quick-fire retrieval practice, 20 minutes breaking down complex core concepts clearly, and 30 minutes decoding past papers and mark schemes to master examiner expectations. These lessons are designed for GCSE students (Maths, English, Science), A-Level STEM students (Biology, Chemistry, Maths), and medical applicants preparing for the UCAT.
