About Aishah
Hi, I'm a Biology teacher of 3 years and an experienced tutor of 5 years.
Science, and Biology in particular, has so much depth and intrigue, but can often be seen as challenging or confusing. I want all students to be able to appreciate the complexity of this subject and to be able to see it as something that is not 'difficult', but something that 'makes sense' and is accessible.
I hope to make lessons as interactive, interesting and relevant as possible. Students will walk away feeling confident, sufficiently challenged and with a real sense of achievement.

I work with GCSE/A-Level students to identify areas of strength and weakness, with this, I build a plan to tackle challenging areas and to consolidate existing knowledge. I take great care to reference the exam boards/specifications you are using to build your confidence for exams and coursework.
A typical lesson can be 1 to 1.5 hours depending on preference and need.
The first lesson comprises of a conversation about your course (GCSE/A-level/tier/exam boards) followed by a baseline assessment. Then I put together a plan, and we begin looking at 1-2 challenge areas. In this time, you will apply your learning to some targeted questions and we evaluate your progress.
The following lessons follow this structure: a brief recall check and consolidation, lesson brief (outcomes), breaking down a topic/area of challenge, followed by checks and questioning before you are given targeted practice time with immediate feedback. You will feel supported and sufficiently challenged.
