About Roberto
I'm a biomedical scientist currently working at a federal research institute in the Washington D.C. area, where I focus on vaccine development and laboratory quality control. I hold a Bachelor's degree in biomedical science and a Master's degree in Bioinformatics.
My scientific background spans molecular biology, microbiology, cell biology, immunology, and data analysis, giving me a broad foundation across the subjects I tutor. I also have experience as a paramedic, which deepened my understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and clinical applications.
I work well with pre-med, nursing, and biology students at the high school and college level who want to genuinely understand the material, not just get through the exam. I am patient, organized, and bilingual in English and Spanish. I am available for online sessions and welcome students from all backgrounds.

My lessons are designed for high school and college students tackling biology, microbiology, cell biology, anatomy, genetics, and related sciences. As a working biomedical scientist at a federal research institute, I bring real-world context to concepts that can otherwise feel abstract in a textbook.
I start each session by identifying where you're stuck, whether that's a specific concept, an upcoming exam, or a recurring gap in understanding. From there we build intuition first, then connect it to what your course actually tests. I'm a firm believer that everyone learns differently, so I adapt my approach to how you think and learn best.
I'm equally comfortable working through diagrams, walking step-by-step through mechanisms, or just talking through confusing material until it clicks. I'm also bilingual in English and Spanish, so I can tutor in either language.
