About Brandon
I help biology students turn confusing lectures, dense slides, and stressful exams into clear concepts, organized study plans, and more confident test preparation. I am a UCF Biomedical Sciences graduate with a neuroscience-focused background, strong academic performance, research experience, and experience presenting scientific work in academic settings.
My background includes biology, microbiology, molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, neuroscience, psychology, and pre-health coursework. I work especially well with high school, AP Biology, college intro biology, and pre-health students who want patient support from someone who understands both the science and the stress of difficult classes.
I also have hands-on teaching and mentoring experience as a peer tutor, swim instructor, student leader, club founder, and volunteer mentor for high school student programs through CBYX/CIEE. These roles taught me how to explain challenging material clearly, adapt to different learning styles, and create a supportive space where students feel comfortable asking questions.
I know what it feels like to be stuck, confused, or overwhelmed by a difficult class, because I have also benefited from tutoring and academic support myself. My goal is to help students feel capable, respected, and prepared while building real understanding instead of just memorizing facts.

My lessons are personalized to your class, exam, assignment, and current level of understanding. We can review lecture slides, break down diagrams, prepare for quizzes and exams, practice active recall, organize study plans, and connect details back to the bigger picture.
A typical lesson starts by identifying what feels confusing or stressful. Then we build a clear explanation step by step, work through examples, and end with a practical plan for what to review next. I focus on helping students understand why biological processes work, not just memorize isolated facts.
I tutor biology, microbiology, molecular biology, cell biology, and genetics, with support for high school biology, AP Biology, college intro biology, and pre-health coursework. My teaching style is patient, encouraging, organized, and concept-focused. My goal is for students to leave each session feeling clearer, more confident, and better prepared for their next assignment or exam.

Brandon is really good at listening and asking questions to figure out what someone actually needs help with instead of just jumping straight into an explanation. He’s patient and good at noticing where someone is getting lost, then breaking it down from there. He’s also easy to talk to and doesn’t make you feel dumb for asking questions. I think he’d be a really helpful tutor, especially for students who are struggling to figure out why something isn’t clicking.
Brandon is really patient and good at explaining things without making someone feel bad for not getting it right away. He’s good at noticing when someone is frustrated or checked out and changing how he explains something so it actually clicks. He also has a good sense of humor and makes things feel more relaxed and engaging. He’s very encouraging and easy to talk to, but still knows how to keep someone focused. I think he’d be really good working with middle or high school students.I know Brandon through our work together at UCF, where he founded and leads a student organization and I serve as Vice President/co-founder. Working with him has shown me how thoughtful, organized, and genuinely committed he is to helping others learn and feel supported.
Brandon is very good at breaking down complicated topics and making them feel approachable. Whether he is leading discussions, planning events, preparing academic material, or helping others understand an idea, he brings patience, clarity, and a lot of care to the process. He creates an environment where people feel comfortable asking questions and engaging, even when the topic is challenging.
What stands out most to me is that Brandon combines strong academic ability with a very encouraging and down-to-earth personality. He is reliable, curious, hardworking, and passionate about science, especially biology, neuroscience, and health-related topics. I would highly recommend him to students looking for a tutor who is knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely invested in helping them succeed.I have known Brandon closely for years, and I have seen how seriously he takes learning, science, and helping other people understand difficult material. He is very thoughtful and good at breaking complicated topics into clear steps.
Brandon has a strong background in biomedical sciences, neuroscience, research, and pre-health coursework, but what makes him stand out is the way he explains things in a calm and approachable way. He genuinely cares about helping people feel more confident, not just giving them quick answers.
I’ve seen him lead, mentor, present, and support students in different academic and volunteer settings, and he brings a lot of maturity and encouragement to the way he works with others. I would absolutely recommend Brandon to students who want a knowledgeable, supportive, and reliable biology tutor.View more recommendations
