About Keira
I am a committed and professional tutor currently studying Biomedical Science at university, with a strong academic background across GCSE STEM subjects. I have a genuine passion for helping students understand challenging topics and gain confidence in their abilities, particularly in preparation for GCSE examinations. I take a structured and organised approach to tutoring, ensuring each lesson is purposeful and tailored to the individual student. My tutoring approach is structured, supportive, and tailored to each student’s learning style. I focus on building a strong understanding of core concepts before moving on to exam-style questions, ensuring students feel confident rather than overwhelmed. I break down complex STEM topics into clear, manageable steps and regularly check understanding through guided questions and practice tasks. I use GCSE specifications to guide my teaching, combining explanations, worked examples, visual aids, and exam techniques. I place particular emphasis on exam preparation, including understanding command words, avoiding common mistakes, and improving problem-solving skills. Lessons typically last 60 minutes, which allows enough time for explanation, practice, and feedback. Shorter or longer sessions can be arranged if needed. All lessons are delivered online, using interactive tools to keep sessions engaging and effective. I am currently studying Biomedical Science at university, giving me strong subject knowledge across biology, chemistry, maths, and related STEM subjects. My academic background allows me to explain topics clearly and link them to real-world scientific applications, helping students see the relevance of what they are learning. My lessons are suitable for GCSE students, typically aged 14–16, of all abilities — whether they need help building confidence, catching up on missed content, or aiming for higher grades.
