About Hester
Hi! I’m Hester, a Biomedical Engineering grad who loves making math and science easier to understand. I like using real-life examples and motions to explain concepts so students can actually see how things work instead of just memorizing formulas. My lessons are interactive and focused on helping students think for themselves — I guide them to find their own solutions rather than just giving them the answers. I’ve also created full-year tutoring plans before, so I know how to keep lessons structured and engaging. Whether the student needs extra support or just wants to get ahead, I’ll make sure learning feels clear, encouraging, and even a bit fun.

When I teach, I focus on understanding and engagement rather than repetition. I tend to use real-life examples and physical motions or visual demonstrations to help students connect abstract ideas with things they can actually relate to. Instead of having students do the same type of question over and over, I guide them to think through problems and discover their own methods. My goal is to help them understand why something works, not just memorize how to do it.
I also encourage students to explain their reasoning and try different approaches so they build confidence in their problem-solving ability. This way, they become more independent learners who can apply what they’ve learned beyond the classroom.
