About Jasleen
I am a college student currently working towards my Associate's Degree in Biology. Having successfully gone through a wide range of classes, I have built a strong foundation in Math and English. I understand what it can take to master these subjects, and I am passionate about helping students overcome their academic struggles and achieve their goals. I adapt my style to match the needs of the students whether it be step-by-step guidance or interactive learning.

I believe that not everyone learns the same way. My teaching approach is very interactive, patient, and based on the student. Instead of just lecturing the students on the subject, I use a method of asking questions from the students for each step so that they can arrive at the answers themselves. I frequently use visual aids, real-world situations, and examples to make the concept stick with the students. A typical lesson plan would be around 60 minutes. The first 5-10 minutes would be a quick review of the lesson taught before and checking in on any troublesome concepts that students might have problems with. The next 25 minutes would be me introducing a new topic using examples and explanations that are easy to follow. The next 20 minutes would be practice of the concept, where we would solve problems together, and later on, there would be individual practice to test mastery of the concept. The last 5 minutes, we would wrap it up, summarizing the key takeaways and previewing what we would learn in the next session. What sets me apart is my focus on the emotional side of learning. Many students struggle because they lack confidence in themselves, not because they lack the capability. I create a warm, comfortable zone where mistakes are considered an opportunity to learn. I also provide notes and materials after sessions so there can be a reference to the material taught handy. My lessons are for elementary to high school students looking to catch up or excel in their curriculum.
