About Mark
I am a professor of biology at two colleges, and I have been teaching or working in a laboratory or field setting for over 40 years. The courses I currently teach are microbiology and environmental biology, but I have taught a large variety of subjects as well as having practical experience both in medically-oriented and ecologically-oriented jobs.

I prefer to have a class be discussion-oriented, because I believe that is more interesting and can address students' interests and concerns best. If need be, I can make it much more like a traditional lecture, which may meet students' goals better if they are applying for licensing in a given field, etc..
