About Alina
I have 8 years of experience teaching biology to learners from high school to undergraduate preparatory programmes. I hold a B.Sc in Molecular Biology and an M.Sc in Environmental Biology, providing a robust understanding of both cellular processes and ecological systems. This background allows me to make complex concepts accessible and engaging for learners at all levels.
My teaching philosophy emphasises patience, clarity, and active participation. Lessons incorporate visual aids, hands-on experiments, and discussion to help learners grasp intricate biological ideas while developing analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Each session is designed to build both confidence and mastery.
Outside teaching, I remain engaged with research in genetics, molecular biology, and environmental studies. Biology becomes fascinating when learners understand the mechanisms of life and the interconnectedness of living systems. My lessons cover cell biology, molecular genetics, physiology, ecology, evolution, and environmental interactions. I emphasise a hands-on and conceptual approach, integrating real-world examples, visual models, and analytical exercises. Each lesson is designed to nurture curiosity, foster critical thinking, and strengthen problem-solving skills while making complex biological concepts intuitive and engaging.
Lesson structure adapts to different levels. Beginners focus on cell structure, basic physiology, DNA/RNA basics, and ecological principles. Intermediate learners explore molecular pathways, genetic expression, and population dynamics. Advanced learners engage with genomics, molecular evolution, biostatistics, and ecological modelling. Exercises, discussion, and problem-based activities reinforce learning and help students build confidence in analysing biological systems.
Biology lessons also develop reasoning, observation, and analytical skills that extend beyond academics. Students learn to interpret experimental data, connect theory to real-world phenomena, and apply logical thinking to scientific problems.
