About Margo
I'm a final year medical students studying in Brighton and using my previous experience in Chemistry and in the IB curriculum (44/45) to support and motivate students in science subjects. My experience spans over 5 years and extends to an understanding of the specific IB requirements and the nuances of the new IB syllabus for 2024 with recent specialised training, as well as a strong knowledge base of chemistry, biology and physics topics in the A-Levels curriculum. As a medical student, these subjects aren't just theories on paper – they're woven into the fabric of my daily studies. This proficiency equips me with skills to reinforce scientific knowledge effectively. Helping students at my school to achieve high results in the IB has earned me the Smith Award for academic success and for solidarity with my peers. My aim is to empower students, with a toolkit for tackling complex content while maintaining the depth and breadth of knowledge essential for success.

My teaching approach centers on understanding each student's unique learning style and tailoring lessons to suit their individual needs. I aim to make learning an enjoyable and accessible experience. To tackle even the most challenging topics, I bring real-world relevance into lessons, making subjects come alive and resonate with students on a personal level. For this, i leverage exam questions, visual supports, mind maps, and practical explanations to topics. This approach ensures that students not only grasp the material but also retain it over the long term.
