About Samantha
I am a recent MSc graduate from McMaster University, with a BSc Honours degree specializing in Marine and Freshwater Biology from the University of Guelph. My graduate research project explored the effects of pollution on fish populations in Lake Ontario.
I have a strong background in educational outreach, with 4 years of experience teaching about nature and wildlife. I am an experienced teaching assistant who has taught labs and seminars for undergraduate biology courses at McMaster University. I run biology and conservation science workshops at the Toronto Zoo catered for students K-12.
I am passionate about tutoring, and inspiring the next generation of students excited about SCIENCE. I believe that learning should be focused back on the student - not only how they can be efficient learners, but proud of their successes.

I strongly believe that the best way to approach problems as a teacher/tutor is to first understand the type of learner that the student is. This is crucial. That way, I can adjust my teaching methods to each student's needs. I am more than happy to work on different goals every session - from figuring out homework problems (chemistry, math, physics), trying new study strategies, to even editing projects and essays.
