About Alexander

Hello there! I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to introduce myself as your tutor. I understand that selecting the right tutor is an important decision, and I want to assure you that you're in capable hands.

Qualifications and Academic Background:

I am currently a 19-year-old student in my first year at Bath University, where I'm studying biochemistry. Before beginning my university journey, I took a gap year, during which I gained valuable teaching experience. I spent 11 months teaching science and technology in a primary school, where I had the privilege of nurturing young minds.

Teaching Experience:

My gap year was a transformative experience as I not only taught in a primary school but also provided individual tutoring to students seeking extra help. This experience honed my teaching skills and reinforced my passion for education.

Academic Achievements:

I completed my A-levels at Tonbridge School, achieving outstanding results. In Chemistry, Biology, Philosophy, and Theology, I secured A*, A*, A, and A grades respectively. Additionally, I excelled in AS Mathematics. My strong academic foundation is a testament to my dedication to learning.

Community Engagement:

During my gap year in Malawi, I dedicated my time to working in an AIDS clinic. I was involved in writing project proposals and organizing awareness events to make a positive impact on the community.

Work Experience:

I also had the opportunity to gain practical experience by working in a brewery for a week. This diverse background reflects my eagerness to explore various fields and acquire new skills.

Passions Beyond Academics:

I am not just an academic; I am someone with a zest for life. I have a deep love for sports, having captained my school's rugby 1st team. I enjoy activities like running, tennis, hockey, and ultimate frisbee, which keep me physically active and mentally sharp. Additionally, I have a creative side and a passion for drama, having played major roles in three productions.

Commitment to Your Success:

As your tutor, I am committed to helping you achieve your academic goals. I bring a diverse range of experiences and a deep enthusiasm for education to our sessions. You can trust that I will approach our lessons with professionalism, dedication, and a genuine desire to see you succeed.

I look forward to embarking on this educational journey with you. If you have any questions or would like to discuss how I can assist you in your academic pursuits, please don't hesitate to reach out. Let's work together to achieve your goals and unlock your full potential.

My tutoring approach is centered around creating an engaging and personalized learning experience for my students. I believe that every student is unique, and I adapt my techniques and teaching methodology to cater to their individual needs and learning styles.

I begin by assessing the student's current knowledge and understanding of the subject matter. This initial assessment helps me identify areas where the student may need extra support. From there, I design a tailored curriculum that aligns with the student's goals and learning objectives.

Interactive Learning: I encourage active participation from my students through discussions, questions, and hands-on activities. This fosters a deeper understanding of the subject matter.

Visual Aids: I use visual aids such as charts, diagrams, and multimedia resources to make complex concepts more accessible and easier to comprehend.

Real-World Applications: Whenever possible, I relate the lessons to real-world examples to help students see the practical relevance of what they're learning.

Practice and Feedback: Regular practice is essential for improvement. I provide exercises and assignments, and I offer constructive feedback to help students develop their skills.

Adaptive Approach: I continually assess the student's progress and adjust my teaching methods accordingly. If a particular approach isn't working, I explore alternative strategies until we find what works best for the student.

The typical length of a lesson can vary depending on the student's needs and preferences. However, I generally offer lessons in 60-minute sessions.
Having been a primary school teacher for an academic year and achieving A* in Biology and Chemistry A-level I offer chemistry and biology tutoring to A-level students and Biology Chemistry and Maths tutoring to GCSE students.

I am committed to helping each student reach their full potential, whether they are struggling with a particular subject, preparing for exams, or simply looking to expand their knowledge.

In summary, my tutoring approach is adaptable, interactive, and designed to cater to the unique needs of each student. With a focus on engagement and personalized learning, I aim to empower my students with the knowledge and confidence they need to excel in their academic pursuits.
