About Eva
Hi! I’m a bilingual Cuban-American tutor with experience as a substitute teacher in middle and high school classrooms. I enjoy helping students who are new to Spanish or who need extra support with classwork, vocabulary, reading, listening, and simple conversation practice. I learned Spanish through family and everyday life, so I understand how confusing it can feel to move between English and Spanish. My goal is to make lessons patient, practical, and encouraging, especially for students who want to feel more confident in Spanish class.

My lessons are for beginner Spanish speakers, especially middle and high school students who want help with classwork, vocabulary, reading, listening, and simple conversation practice. I start by asking what the student is learning, what feels confusing, and whether they have homework or a quiz to prepare for.
A typical lesson may include reviewing homework, practicing vocabulary, reading short sentences, simple grammar review, and making practice questions or flashcards. If the student does not have homework, I can prepare beginner-friendly practice based on topics like greetings, school, food, family, or common verbs. My goal is to make Spanish feel less intimidating and help students build confidence step by step.
