About Trina
I am an undergraduate university student from Singapore, which has a rigorous and comprehensive education system. I have previously taught Mathematics and Biology in a Singaporean public school under the official Ministry of Education internship programme for A Level/IB graduates, and also in a private tuition setting. Beyond STEM subjects, I obtained a 7 in IB Chinese B and have spoken and learned (Simplified) Mandarin Chinese my whole life, thus I believe I will be able to provide adequate Chinese immersion for a student who is learning Chinese as a second language.

As a bilingual person, my strength lies in being able to converse with students in Mandarin, with special attention towards the vocabulary required in their syllabus, improving their communication skills and encouraging acquisition of the language that does not rely on direct English-to-Chinese translation mentally. Though I have not tutored in Chinese, I have teaching experience in Mathematics and Biology (Singaporean syllabus), both privately and in a public school. My lessons are aimed towards students who already have a very basic understanding of Chinese, and are looking to increase their comfort with the language through conversation and reading.
