About Emma
Hi, my name is Emma L'Amoreaux and I am currently a Bachelor of Fine Arts major at Chico State University with a degree in Liberal Studies. My emphasis is Printmaking and Fiber Arts however I am well-versed in other mediums such as drawing, ceramics, sculpture, and basic art appreciation and skills.
I am a believer that art and creative expression are one of the most important aspects of the human experience. By engaging in and expressing yourself through creativity you are actively building critical thinking skills, problem-solving, and processing the world around you. I hope to foster self-confidence in my students and their work as well as a better understanding of process whether that be drawing, printmaking, fiber arts, etc.

My teaching method is very hands-on, students will learn by doing!
We will start each project by conducting brief research and discussion about a few artists that are chosen based on student interest, medium, and relevance. This way students will begin to build knowledge on not only important figures and movements within art history but contemporary artists as well, building the language and curiosity to explore and build their own art practice and implement new skills. We will then begin the lesson that will be based on a prompt and what we learned from the artists' research, tying in the fundamental skills we see the artist using while still creatively interpreting the prompt.
I am willing and capable to teach ages ranging from 5-18. Lesson plans will be tailored to each student based on age and experience level.
