About Emma Gustafson
I am a 25 year old full time artist, currently based on the Coromandel Peninsula.
Through my artwork I aim to :
• Celebrate the beautiful landscapes I am grateful to inhabit
• Cultivate feelings of love, warmth and gratitude for nature
I believe that every creative human has something unique and valuable to contribute to the creative collective world! You don’t need a degree to be an exceptional fine artist!
I personally don’t advise young aspiring artists to go to university to study “fine arts” (unless you are wanting a job in academia or have limitless amounts of money/financial freedom). You will find that most of the lecturers haven't been able to make a living out of selling their own art and won't be able to help you navigate the realms of art business.
For the past two years I have been making a living as an artist and believe I have a lot to offer any young person who is aspiring to make it as an artist.

I teach young artists the fundamental skills of painting and help them work towards developing their own unique style which will enable them to become a successful artist commercially in New Zealand and abroad.
I have illustrated two successful children's book, The Story of Swoop (New Zealand best seller) and Dobby by renowned NZ author Marion Day in the two years since graduating university. I am also a freelance designer and artist. You can check out my work on my website: (concealed information)
