About Kaia
"Sitting at the piano for the first time feels like starting a new conversation between the hands. 13 years of teaching have allowed me to guide 497 students through the complexities of hand independence and chord voicing. Teens and adults often find that my background in musical theater brings a different energy to classical repertoire or pop arrangements. Berklee College of Music provided the technical tools I use to break down music theory for intermediate learners.
Memorization techniques and scales become manageable when approached with a clear strategy. Kids enjoy the practical side of ear training as they begin to recognize patterns in songs. My studio in Denver is a place where music feels accessible rather than intimidating.

I provide custom sheet music arrangements for songs you choose so the work stays relevant to your taste. My 13 years of experience inform how I simplify complex theory into usable skills for your contemporary or classical projects. Building a bridge between reading notation and playing by ear remains a central goal of my instruction.
Every lesson incorporates elements from my Berklee training to ensure you understand the mechanics behind the notes. The rhythm of our work reflects your personal goals as we move through new repertoire. Your progress is the reason I create these specialized arrangements for our shared time.
