About Chris
I am a lifelong musician, beginning to play and learn music back in elementary school. I am a very patient and kind person, always being sure my students are enjoying the process of learning music. I have had the privilege of having many different music teachers in my life, all with their own amazing ways of allowing me to understand the language of music. I am very passionate about passing my knowledge on to others and allowing others to enjoy learning and playing music as much as I do.

I have always taught music in a way I call the "backwards approach", which means that I start by finding out what specific type of music and/or what is inspiring the student to want to learn to play music. Over time, I incorporate in music of the past which will help a musician understand where music they love derived from and how it is all connected going as far back as classical. I can teach from a very basic approach of learning to read music to students who more hope to learn to play by ear and understand how to comp chords and read basic chord charts, giving a better overall understanding of music theory and how all the different key signatures work together. Most importantly, I do my best to make learning music fun, engaging, and giving students a great sense of accomplishment and willingness to be a lifelong learner of music...as I am!
