About Ryan
For me, songwriting has always been a way to turn my feelings into something good. Sometimes when we are emotionally suffering it feels like we are suffering for nothing. And sometimes when we are learning about life it feels like there is nothing to put that knowledge into. The gift of the artist is that we CAN put all that into something, something beautiful and immortalized. I made plenty of mistakes as I grew into my own artistry but at Berklee I had the privilege of having my development straightened and nurtured and I became a much better songwriter much faster. I will teach you everything I learned at Berklee and don't tell anyone but I am going to charge a hell of a lot less! But I will also teach you a lot that they don't teach you at Berklee. About the artistic mindset, the aesthetic philosophy of music, and the tips and tricks of creativity.

Do you wish to artistically express yourself? To create songs from thin air out of your feelings, joys, and sorrows? Songs that delight and charm your loved ones and maybe even resonate with your future audience?
We are all humans and we all need art. As your teacher I will mentor you as you discover your own individual artistic voice and teach you everything you need to know to get there. From music theory to philosophy to poetry. The songwriter is a musician, poet, performer and thinker, the wielder of emotions who paints with sound on the canvas of time.
My lessons are for all levels of songwriters, but they do prerequire a serviceable ability to play an instrument.
Songwriting has been enormously meaningful for me in my life, and I want it to be for you too.
