About Marie-Alix
Graduated from Ecole Polytechnique and Berkeley, having worked as a project engineer at Suez for 3 years, I am currently pursuing a thesis in Thermodynamics, while training in theories of learning in order to join the academic world and education later.

I try my best to encourage the student to be an actor in his own learning process, so that he understands better and can analyze instead of just remembering and restitute. A first discussion with the student is useful to get to know the student, its motivation, its needs, its projects. Then a session is as follows: 1) The students describes what he / she understood from the last lesson, helped by my guiding questions, and sums everything up under the sketch form. 2) I answer the questions or complete the summary of the lesson trying different approaches, and making links with everyday life or the student's prior experiences. 3) The student solves exercises (provided by the professor or chosen by me), in relation with the lesson, thanks to the sketch and my guiding questions. 4) Depending on the subject, the student can provide an everyday life situation where the lesson can be apply, and solve this situation by him / herself, with my support, to help him / her create links with his / her daily life and reinforce both his / her motivation and his / her modeling ability.
