About Tobias
Hoi, ik ben Tobias — Nederlander en moedertaalspreker. Ik geef online Nederlandse les aan kinderen en tieners uit Nederlandse en Vlaamse gezinnen die in het buitenland wonen.
Dat is een specifiek probleem: thuis hoort je kind Nederlands, maar op school en met vriendjes niet. Het begrijpen blijft meestal wel, maar het spreken wordt onzeker en het schrijven zakt weg. Hoe ouder het kind, hoe groter dat gat — dus hoe eerder we eraan beginnen, hoe makkelijker het is.
Jij bent als ouder mijn opdrachtgever. Je weet waar je kind staat, waar we deze maand aan werken en wat het volgende doel is.

Hoe het werkt:
Na de eerste les krijg je van mij een korte schriftelijke inschatting van het niveau van je kind — luisteren, spreken, lezen, schrijven — en een voorstel voor wat we als eerste aanpakken.
Daarna bouwen we op. Elke les sluit aan op de vorige, met materiaal dat ik per les voorbereid voor jouw kind. Geen losse conversatieoefening, maar een opbouw waarin je elke week ziet dat er iets bij komt.
Tussen de lessen door krijgt je kind een of twee korte, leuke opdrachten mee die de volgende les voorbereiden. Zo leeft het Nederlands ook door de week, en niet alleen tijdens de les.
De lessen zijn online. Ik pas tempo en onderwerpen aan op wat jouw kind interessant vindt — bij kinderen is dat het verschil tussen een uur uitzitten en een uur meedoen. De meeste gezinnen doen één of twee lessen per week; wat het beste werkt bespreken we gewoon.
Vaste wekelijkse momenten, in jouw tijdzone, en ik ben er altijd op tijd. De eerste les is gratis, zodat je kunt zien hoe je kind reageert voordat je iets vastlegt.

Perfect! My son (7 yo) loves his Dutch language lessons with Tobias and looks forward to them each time! Tobias is patient, attentive, and keeps my son engaged for the entire hour each class.
Tobias provides interactive and guided language exercises that are aligned with my son's interests while keeping in mind the goals we jointly discussed at the beginning of the lesson series. He is punctual, super easy to communicate with, and has a structured way of teaching (which I prefer to build progress each week). Fun follow-up homework activities are provided to keep the new information on the foreground in between classes and connect my son with the Dutch language beyond simply speaking it at home with me (Flemish is my mother tongue).
We will be working with Tobias for the foreseeable future and I wholeheartedly recommend him as a tutor to assist you with creating a strong language foundation!View more reviews

Tobias helped me learn Spanish. He’s been a great teacher. Always adjusting the lessons to my pace of learning. Great guy, always having fun during the lessons which helps a lot learning a language faster. Definitely recommend!
