I believe acting isn’t taught, it’s explored. With extensive experience and training at Strasberg, I guide serious students through techniques from Stanislavsky to Strasberg.

About Dishank
One had to think twice before even sitting beside the innocent-looking yet notoriously mischievous Dishank. Such was his demeanor—a mix of charm and chaos—until his antics met their match in the form of some well-deserved punishments and a great number of pasting sessions courtesy of his concerning report cards.
But behind that cheeky grin was a boy with a big dream. A boy who idolized Montgomery Clift—not just for his acting but for the way he walked, spoke, and seemed to carry the weight of the world with quiet intensity. He’s the kind of actor Dishank has always aspired to be: affective, intelligent, and deeply connected to his craft.
Of course, if he’s honest, his first dream was to be Spider-Man. (And maybe it still is. Hey, there’s always the multiverse.) But his real inspiration comes from the work of ‘The Group Theatre’ (1931–1941)—a collective that reshaped acting into something else. Dishank’s passion for the craft led him to the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York where he studied with incredible teachers
His work credits include several films and Off-Broadway plays in New York and Mumbai. But more than his resume, what defines him is his love for the process. Acting isn’t just something he does; it’s something he lives.
So, why does he want to share his knowledge with you? Because someone once shared theirs with him. Dishank believes acting is a gift, one that grows richer when passed on. He wants you to find your truth, your voice, and your power—not by mimicking anyone else, but by discovering the raw, unique artist within yourself.
He’s here to help you break the mold, not fit into one. And maybe, just maybe, to help you avoid a few pasting sessions along the way.

Actors, listen up. If you’re here for quick tricks or “how to cry on cue” hacks, you’re in the wrong place. And guess what? It’s also wildly unpredictable—kind of like life. Here’s what we focus on to make sure you’re ready for anything:
Action Analysis: Because “just feel it” is not a strategy. Understand what you’re doing and why. (Hint: Your character doesn’t get upstage just to show off their costume.)
Concentration: If you can’t focus, you’ll end up acting with your scene partner’s shadow instead of their soul. Let’s fix that.
Relaxation: Tension kills creativity. I’ll teach you how to breathe—yes, that thing you’ve been doing wrong since birth.
Given Circumstances,/Magic If,/ As If: Acting is about living truthfully in imaginary worlds. No, you’re not a medieval knight, but what if you were? Let’s go there.
Perception/Listening: Acting isn’t about waiting for your turn to talk. It’s about hearing, feeling, and reacting. Otherwise, you’re just a glorified mannequin.
Etudes: Forget perfection; learn to create from the messy, unpredictable present moment. That’s where the magic is.
Improv: Life rarely gives you perfect cues. Neither does the stage. Adapt, or perish.
Once you’ve got these fundamentals locked down, we’ll tackle scene work and artistic choices.
No shortcuts. No excuses. Just real work. If you’re ready to dig deep and laugh at the absurdity of it all, let’s begin.
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
Dishank has strictly asked me to not recommend him as I am his mother and it brings in bias to speak highly of him. However I am here writing him a recommendation because I want to! He has been on an artistic trajectory ever since he was in high school. I’ve seen him grow and help others in their artistic growth. I can vouch he is cut out to do this. Get in his class ASAP- it goes full in no time
Dishank has a rare gift for creating a safe, supportive environment where actors feel free to explore, take risks, and grow. He’s not just a teacher but a mentor, encouraging his students to dig deeper and truly “be” in their work.
If you’re lucky enough to learn from Dishank, you’re in excellent hands.I’ve been training with Dishank since about four years. He is a great guy and helps you so much in your artistic journey
I’ve had the privilege of working with Dishank as a fellow acting student for years, and learning from him is transformative. Recently, he moved from New York to Bombay, which is a huge opportunity for any serious acting student.
Dishank doesn’t just throw techniques at you—he takes the time to understand you as a person. He helped me psychoanalyze myself, uncovering emotional layers that improved not just my acting but also my personal growth. His deep knowledge of acting history, his cultivated understanding of plays, and his passion for storytelling set him apart.
In class we learnt everything from Stanislavsky’s system to Strasberg’s method to chekov psychological gestures
If you want to grow as an artist and a human being, working with Dishank is an opportunity you can’t miss.View more recommendations

This platform only allows me to list hourly rates, but please note:
• Each class is a minimum of 4 hours, unless you’re looking for something more specific—such as exploring a particular technique, preparing for an audition, working on voice and communication, or focusing on a targeted exercise.
• I offer a maximum of 8 hours per week for new students. A typical class looks like this (though I adapt depending on the actor’s needs): •
First Part of the class → Relaxation, sense memory exercises, warm-ups, and Michael Chekhov’s work •
Scene/monologue work → Applying the above into text
Every actor is different, so I design each session around where you are in your journey and what you specifically need.
