About Hamza
Background:
I have a fascination for the Arabic language and its cultural treasure house. I have a background of [x] years learning Arabic and I am familiar with both the classical and modern dialects so as to present an all-round view on language.
Teaching Philosophy:
I create a safe and nurturing learning environment conducive to active participation. I aim to make learners fall in love with the Arabic language and culture by using an interactive approach, where we nurture creativity as well as encourage students asking questions regularly.
Experience:
As an Arabic tutor, I have successfully taught students of all ages and ability levels starting from the very basic alphabets to more advanced grammar topics. I love using different teaching methods (immersive activities, multimedia resources or practising conversations like in the real life) which can make learning a language more enjoyable and better.
Curriculum Focus:
In my tutorials, I cover the four areas of communication: speaking, listening reading and writing. I customize my curriculum to the individual learning needs and goals of each student; students who want to learn for academic reasons, travel or personal interest.
Cultural Integration:
My lessons are therefore centred around speaking and I also bring in cultural elements of the Arab world- music, literature and tradition, to add a depth to learning. For any language you learn, I think understanding of the underlying cultural context is necessary.
Continuous Learning:
Being a teacher is incredibly fulfilling but it can be hard work… like, REALLY HARD WORK. I am constantly looking for new ways to teach and learn, as well as keeping up with current ideas in the field of language teaching.
Personal Touch:
I always try being on a personal level with my students, asking them to let me know what they like and do. This builds an environment of support that increases the effectiveness of learning.
