About Tirza
I am a vocal coach with six years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music in Classical Voice. I enjoy guiding students of all levels, from beginners discovering their voice to advanced singers refining their artistry. My approach blends multiple singing styles, helping students explore classical, contemporary, jazz, pop, and soul.
I focus on building strong technique while nurturing musicality and expressive performance. Ear training, harmony work, and improvisation are integral parts of my lessons, helping students develop confidence and creativity. I also incorporate theory to deepen understanding and enhance practical skills.
Each lesson is individualized, tailored to your goals, strengths, and learning style. Whether we’re improving vocal control, expanding range, or exploring new genres, every session is structured to be engaging and productive. I emphasize performance skills alongside technical mastery, ensuring that students can apply what they learn in real musical contexts.
My goal is to help each student find their unique voice, perform with expression, and enjoy the process of making music. My singing methodology is designed to help students discover their unique vocal identity while growing creatively. For The Adult Beginner, lessons focus on building confidence, developing healthy vocal tone, and exploring expressive singing. We start with foundational exercises, gradually shaping tone and breath control while introducing simple songs that spark enjoyment.
For The Advanced Teen, I emphasize refining technique, expanding range, and deepening emotional expression. Song interpretation and storytelling become central, helping them connect with lyrics and convey meaning in performance. Both personas benefit from exploring multiple genres, from pop and jazz to soul and R&B, which encourages versatility and creative growth.
Improvisation is a key tool, allowing students to experiment with phrasing, dynamics, and style. I use lyric analysis sheets and vocal journals to track progress and reflect on personal expression. Melody trainers and digital audio workstations (DAWs) are incorporated to strengthen pitch accuracy, harmonies, and arrangement skills.
Lessons balance structured technique with creative play, making practice engaging and meaningful. Students learn to interpret songs, improvise confidently, and tell their own musical stories. By the end, every singer develops a clear voice, a unique style, and the joy of expressive performance.
