About Chalani
I am an Indian dance choreographer based in KL and Subang, deeply passionate about celebrating the art of dance and sharing it with others. With years of experience teaching, performing, and choreographing, I’ve had the privilege of working on events, flash mobs, workshops, and community-driven projects.
Teaching dance is my way of giving back to the community and inspiring others to embrace their creative potential. I believe that dance is more than just movement—it’s a form of expression, a way to connect with oneself and others, and a journey of personal growth. By teaching beginners, I want to make dance accessible to everyone, help them build confidence, and show them that anyone can find joy and fulfillment through dance. My goal is to foster a love for dance and create a safe, welcoming space where people can learn, grow, and celebrate their individuality.

Techniques and Teaching Methodology:
I tailor my lessons to suit beginners, offering a blend of fun, skill-building, and cultural connection. My approach focuses on breaking down each move while encouraging creativity and self-expression. Classes include warm-ups, practice sessions, choreography, and feedback to ensure steady progress.
Typical Length of a Lesson:
Classes are 60 minutes long, balancing physical activity and creative learning, but the class duration can be further discussed to suit students' schedules and preferences. You may choose to have private classes at my own studio (located in Subang Jaya), have private classes conducted at your place or attend my classes online.
Qualifications and Experience:
As a professional Indian dance choreographer, I bring extensive teaching experience and a deep passion for the art form. I’ve choreographed for corporate and private events, taught and organized dance workshops, and am a proud manager/co-founder of Podu Step’eh, a growing dance community in KL, Malaysia, that nurtures Malaysian Indian talent and celebrates creative expression through dance.
