About Niyati

Hi, I’m Niyati, a friendly and patient tutor who believes that learning English should feel practical, interactive, and enjoyable. My teaching style is based on my own learning journey as a student who once struggled with speaking confidence, grammar, pronunciation, and communication skills.

I believe that teaching English effectively often comes from understanding the experience of learning it step by step. Someone who has personally gone through the process of studying a language understands the common difficulties students face, such as hesitation while speaking, fear of making mistakes, vocabulary limitations, and pronunciation challenges. This learning journey helps create better teaching strategies, patience, and the ability to explain concepts in a simple and relatable way.

During my school and college years, I improved my English through repetitive practice, real conversations, listening activities, and daily communication. Over time, I realised that language learning is not about memorising rules alone — it is a structured process that requires consistency, confidence-building, practical usage, and enjoyable interaction.

That experience shapes the way I teach today. I focus on real-time speaking practice, interactive conversations, repetition techniques, pronunciation improvement, and fun learning activities that help students become comfortable using English naturally. I encourage students to learn without fear of mistakes because confidence grows through regular practice and communication.

My goal is to create a supportive and motivating environment where students can improve their English step by step while enjoying the learning process.

I’m Niyati, a friendly and supportive tutor who enjoys helping students strengthen their English skills with confidence. I design my lessons to be interactive, comfortable, and easy to follow, especially for beginners and students who may feel nervous while speaking English.

As someone who learned and improved English through school, college, and everyday communication, I understand the challenges students face with grammar, pronunciation, speaking confidence, and vocabulary. This personal experience helps me teach with patience and explain concepts in a simple and practical way.

I believe teaching a language is not just about memorising words or grammar rules. Learning any language is a structured process that requires the right techniques, consistent practice, communication exercises, pronunciation improvement, and confidence-building activities. Effective language learning involves methods and strategies that experienced tutors understand and apply according to each student’s learning style and pace.

In my lessons, I focus on:

English speaking and conversation practice
Grammar improvement
Vocabulary building
Reading and writing skills
Pronunciation and fluency
Confidence building through real-time practice

My teaching approach is student-focused and practical. I adapt lessons according to each student’s level, strengths, and goals to make learning more effective and enjoyable. A typical lesson usually lasts around 1.5 hours and includes conversation practice, structured exercises, interactive activities, and personalised feedback to help students improve step by step.

My lessons are suitable for:

School students
Beginners learning English
International students
People wanting to improve speaking confidence
Anyone looking to improve everyday English communication

My goal is to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and improving naturally through guided learning and regular practice.

  • 1) When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

I developed an interest in teaching during my own learning journey as a student. While studying programming, mathematics, and English communication during school and university, I realised that many students struggle not because they are incapable, but because concepts are often explained in a confusing or overly technical way.

As someone who personally experienced the challenges of learning from scratch, I became passionate about simplifying difficult topics into smaller, practical steps. Over time, friends and classmates started asking me for help with coding, assignments, presentations, and communication skills, and I discovered that I genuinely enjoyed teaching and seeing others gain confidence.

Private tutoring became meaningful to me because it allows personalised learning. Every student learns differently, and I enjoy adapting my teaching style according to their pace, strengths, and comfort level rather than using one fixed method for everyone.
  • 2) Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

I enjoy teaching subjects in a practical and interactive way rather than focusing only on theory. In web development, I love helping students understand how HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design work together to create real websites. Seeing students build something functional from their own code is always exciting.

In English lessons, I enjoy conversation practice, pronunciation improvement, confidence-building activities, and helping students communicate naturally in real-life situations. I especially like discussing topics that encourage students to think creatively and express themselves comfortably.

For mathematics, I enjoy simplifying concepts that students usually find difficult and showing them easier ways to approach problems logically and step by step.

What I enjoy most overall is helping students move from “I can’t do this” to “I understand this now.” That transformation is the most rewarding part of teaching.
  • 3) Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

Yes, I’ve had teachers who inspired me not because they were strict or highly academic, but because they were patient and made students feel comfortable asking questions without fear.

One thing I learned from inspiring teachers is that good teaching is not about showing how much knowledge you have — it’s about making sure the student understands and feels confident. The teachers who impacted me the most were the ones who explained concepts multiple times in different ways until students truly understood them.

That inspired my own teaching style today. I try to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and learning step by step without pressure.
  • 4) What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

I believe a good tutor needs patience, communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to understand a student’s mindset.

Every student learns differently. Some students need repetition, some need visual explanations, while others learn best through practice and real examples. A good tutor should recognise these differences and adjust their teaching style accordingly.

I also believe empathy is very important. Students learn better when they feel supported rather than judged. Building confidence is just as important as teaching the subject itself.

Most importantly, a good tutor should make learning feel less intimidating and more enjoyable.
  • 5) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

One memory that really shaped me as a tutor was during my early programming studies. I remember spending hours trying to fix a small coding error that turned out to be just one missing bracket. At that time, it felt frustrating and overwhelming.

But that experience taught me something important: many students are not struggling because they are “bad” at coding or learning — they are struggling because small mistakes can make the whole process feel confusing.

Now, when I teach, I focus a lot on helping students understand debugging, problem-solving, and staying calm during mistakes. I always remind students that confusion is part of learning and that improvement comes through practice, patience, and consistency.
  • 6) What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or are still facing in your subject?

One of the biggest challenges I faced while learning was confidence. Whether it was speaking English, solving difficult math problems, or learning programming logic, there were moments where I doubted myself and felt slow compared to others.

Another challenge was understanding complex explanations that were taught too quickly or theoretically. That is why I now focus heavily on simplifying concepts and teaching in a more beginner-friendly and relatable way.

Even today, I continue learning because technology, communication, and teaching methods constantly evolve. I believe a good tutor should always remain a learner as well.
  • 7) Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

My biggest passion is helping people grow in confidence through learning.

I enjoy teaching because education can completely change how someone sees themselves. Sometimes students only need the right guidance and encouragement to realise they are capable of much more than they think.

I’m especially passionate about making learning feel approachable and less stressful. Whether it’s coding, mathematics, or English communication, I enjoy turning complicated topics into something students can actually enjoy and understand.

I also genuinely enjoy continuous learning myself — exploring new technologies, improving communication skills, and finding better teaching strategies.
  • 8) What makes you a Superprof (besides answering these interview questions)?

What makes me a Superprof is that I teach from both knowledge and personal experience.

I understand what it feels like to struggle with learning because I’ve experienced it myself. That helps me connect with students more genuinely and teach with patience, understanding, and practical strategies instead of only textbook methods.

My lessons are interactive, supportive, and personalised. I focus not only on improving academic performance but also on helping students feel more confident, independent, and motivated.

I believe learning should never feel embarrassing or intimidating. My goal is to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and improving step by step.

For me, teaching is not just about finishing a lesson — it’s about helping students believe in their own abilities.
