About Beau
I have been taught by a professional classical guitar teacher from England and two flamenco players from Spain (Malaga and Granada). One of them was Ruben Diaz, a flamenco guitar player from Malaga, who was a student of Paco de Lucia.
I have also had Violin lessons from Alex Taylor, a professional Violin player, based in Bristol.
These teachers have influenced me and continue to influence my guitar playing, the way I think about music and my approach to teaching.
Despite having had a few different teachers and mentors, I am somewhat self-taught and have learnt a lot of the music I know music by ear. The techniques I use, though, are based on what I have been taught by my teachers.
Some of my influences: Baden Powell, Bert Jansch, Pierre Bensusan, Tony Mcmanus, John Mclaughlin.

My teaching approach is based on the steady and patient progression of observation and feedback, face to face. Depending on the skills and needs of the student, I will teach the techniques that I believe to be important and which have helped me the most.
A great way to learn is to learn through a song. A song or composition alone can be a great vehicle to learn technique, harmony, rhythm, etc. You can spend a long time on one piece of music and continue to learn through it. This was how I have been taught and find it very effective.
