I am an academic with several years of experience both in academia and industry. I have a Ph.D. in IT and have done teaching of predictive analytics at the higher education level. However, I make no assumptions about your prior experience with analytics and you will find it easy and rewarding to learn machine learning concepts.

I will take you through the main data preparation techniques and exploratory analysis first and then, we will practice with the above machine learning concepts on some standard data sets.
