My approach to tutoring Chinese is student-centered, focusing on engaging, interactive lessons tailored to each student's unique learning style and goals. I believe that language learning should be immersive and practical, so I incorporate a mix of speaking, listening, reading, and writing exercises in every lesson. To make the learning process enjoyable, I use a variety of resources such as multimedia tools, real-life conversational practice, and cultural elements like Chinese music, films, and traditions.
For beginners, I emphasize building a strong foundation in pronunciation (pinyin), basic vocabulary, and sentence structure. As students progress, I introduce more complex grammar, idiomatic expressions, and character writing. I also encourage students to practice regularly outside of lessons through homework, language apps, or engaging with Chinese media.
A typical lesson lasts around 60 to 90 minutes. This length allows us to cover new material, practice skills, and review previous lessons without overwhelming the student. For younger students or beginners, I may opt for shorter, more frequent sessions to maintain engagement and retention.
My lessons are designed for students of all ages and levels. Whether you’re a complete beginner, a student preparing for exams like GCSE or HSK, or an adult learner looking to improve conversational skills for travel or business, I can tailor lessons to meet your needs. I am particularly experienced in helping.
