About Shreyash
Music has always been a personal journey for me, and the bansuri (flute) holds a special place in my life. I have been playing for the past eight years, and over time, I have had the joy of sharing my music in public settings. However, what draws me most to this instrument is the sense of peace, focus, and joy it brings—something I hope to pass on to my students. By profession, I work as a consultant, but teaching bansuri (flute) is something I do because I genuinely enjoy it. I understand what it’s like to have a busy schedule, so my lessons are designed to be practical, flexible, and stress-free—helping students learn at their own pace without pressure. For those just starting, I focus on the fundamentals of breath control, finger techniques, and melody, keeping the learning process structured but enjoyable. If you don’t have a bansuri yet, I provide extra flutes for initial lessons and can help you choose an authentic one when you’re ready. If you've been considering learning the bansuri but weren’t sure where to start, this is a great way to explore it in a relaxed and approachable setting.

Discover the art of the bansuri flute through structured, beginner-friendly lessons designed to make learning both enjoyable and rewarding. Whether you're completely new to music or simply curious about Indian classical traditions, these lessons provide a strong foundation in breath control, finger techniques, and melodic expression.
My Approach:
Fundamentals First – Proper breath control, finger placement, and tone production to build a strong foundation.
Step-by-Step Learning – Gradual introduction to swaras (musical notes), simple alankars (patterns), and basic ragas to develop melody and rhythm.
Mindful Practice – Encouraging a relaxed, meditative approach to playing, helping students improve focus and reduce stress.
What a Typical Lesson Looks Like
Each lesson is structured to ensure steady progress:
Breathing exercises and tone development
Introduction to notes and simple patterns
Learning basic ragas and compositions
Understanding rhythm and coordination
If you don’t have a bansuri yet, I provide extra flutes for initial classes and can help you choose an authentic instrument when you're ready.
Who Are These Lessons For?
These in-person sessions are perfect for beginners who are just starting their musical journey. No prior experience or music theory knowledge is required—just a willingness to learn and explore the beautiful world of bansuri.
Lessons are available evenings and weekends.
$40 per hour session, with a 5% discount for 5 classes.
