About Riya
I have an MSc in Engineering Physics and more than 3 years of tutoring experience. My passion lies in teaching environmental physics through an interdisciplinary lens. I help students understand climate change, renewable energy, and atmospheric science. Lessons are designed to show both the scientific and human sides of these issues. I use real-world data to highlight the urgency of current trends. Students learn to interpret graphs, models, and climate datasets. We also explore how science shapes environmental policy. I believe connecting theory to global context motivates learners deeply. Many of my students are eco-conscious and determined to make a difference. I also support environmental science students with strong technical skills. Discussions often lead to ideas for sustainable solutions. My teaching balances scientific rigor with reflection on values. Students gain both knowledge and perspective. Together, we use physics to better understand and address global challenges.

I believe physics is best learned by doing and reflecting. My approach focuses on experimental design and how to ask good scientific questions. Data analysis is integrated into lessons, showing students how to connect numbers with ideas. Error propagation is taught as a way to understand limitations. Scientific reporting is also emphasized, since communication is central to science. My teaching is calm and encouraging, giving learners time to explore. I work closely with DIY Scientists who thrive on independence. Curiosity-Driven Learners are also supported, as they are given freedom to explore ideas. I balance this independence with structure and clarity. Each session involves careful reflection on both process and outcome. Students learn not just what works, but why. Over time, they develop resilience and confidence in investigation. My lessons are designed to inspire a love of inquiry. Together, we learn to conduct experiments with both precision and imagination.
