About Mercy
My fascination with chemistry began with a curiosity about how reactions work and led me to pursue a Bachelor of Science at Duke University. My academic journey strengthened my analytical approach to challenging concepts, and I now work with teens, kids, and intermediate learners who want to build confidence in chemistry.
With 13 years of teaching experience and 467 students taught, I have developed a clear and adaptable approach to topics such as stoichiometry, thermochemistry, chemical bonding, organic chemistry, and physical chemistry. I believe every student learns differently, so I focus on finding simple, effective explanations that make complex ideas easier to understand.
I also help students prepare for chemistry exams and academic challenges by strengthening their problem-solving skills and conceptual understanding.
