About Cadence
"I have 7 years of experience teaching singing and helping students develop strong vocal skills and musical confidence. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance with a focus on Lieder and Art Song. My lessons combine technical training with creativity to help each student discover their own voice.
I specialize in vocal improvisation for jazz and blues singers, including scat singing, melodic embellishment, and advanced harmony. I also teach ear training, scale and chord theory application, and practical ways to create unique improvisational ideas. My goal is to help students understand music deeply while developing their personal style.
I work with singers at all levels, from beginners who are building their first vocal habits to advanced performers looking to improve their skills. I create personalized lessons that focus on vocal technique, performance ability, and musical expression. One student who was nervous about improvising gradually gained confidence by practicing simple melodic ideas and exploring their creativity.
I believe every singer has a unique sound that deserves to be developed with patience and care. My teaching approach helps students grow as musicians while enjoying the learning process. I look forward to guiding you as you strengthen your voice and discover the freedom of musical expression."

"My teaching approach focuses on helping singers become confident and effective members of vocal groups. Lessons include choral singing, vocal blending, sight reading for choirs, part singing, harmony skills, and ensemble awareness. I help students understand how their voice connects with others to create a balanced group sound. I teach singers how to listen carefully, adjust their tone, and support the overall performance of the ensemble.
For example, we practice matching vowels and dynamics so every voice blends naturally during group pieces. These small details help singers feel more comfortable and connected when performing with others. I also include exercises for reading music quickly and understanding different vocal parts during rehearsals.
Students learn how to follow a conductor, maintain their part, and adapt to different musical styles with confidence. My lessons are suitable for singers who want to improve their teamwork and performance skills in group settings. My goal is to help every student become a reliable and expressive ensemble singer. With focused practice and clear guidance, students can develop stronger musical awareness and contribute confidently to any choir or vocal group.
