About Alexia
Completed Bachelor of Music in 2026
I completed my Bachelor of Music at the Australian Guild of Music Education (AGME) in 2026, specialising in Composition and Pedagogy (Music Teaching). I am currently in my final year of a Master of Teaching (Secondary) at Australian Catholic University (ACU), specialising in Music.
My studies in music and education have given me a strong understanding of both the artistic and educational benefits of learning music and playing the piano. Through my studies and teaching experience, I have developed an appreciation for how music education can support students' cognitive, creative, and personal development.
Learning to play the piano can help students develop skills such as memory, attention, problem-solving, coordination, and concentration. Regular practice also encourages discipline, patience, and perseverance. Beyond these skills, learning music provides students with opportunities to express themselves creatively, build confidence, and develop a lifelong appreciation for music.
When teaching piano, I aim to create a supportive and engaging environment where students can develop their skills at their own pace. My goal is not only to teach students how to play pieces, but also to help them understand the music they are playing and develop independence as musicians.
I am also particularly passionate about teaching Composition, as it is an area of music education that I believe deserves greater attention in schools. Composition allows students to explore how and why music is constructed and encourages them to think creatively and critically.
Through composition, students can explore the intentions of composers, mood, historical and cultural context, artistic choices, motifs, rhythm, melody, harmony, dynamics, and musical structure. They can also learn how musical decisions can communicate ideas, emotions, and meaning.
I believe these skills are valuable because they allow students to develop creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills while giving them the opportunity to express their own ideas through music.

Perfect! My child really enjoy the piano lesson with Alexia. The lesson is flexible and cater to the need of my teenager at the same time with clear structure and goal setting for him to follow through during the week. No need to remind the child to practice as playing the music he like doesn't feel likes a chores.
Perfect! She is very nice and easy to work with. Professional and well prepared.
Perfect! Early days, but Alexia has been outstanding!
Perfect! She gave me a good introduction into the basics of playing a pino and understanding the different components of the instrument as well as playing some notes and hand positioning
Perfect! We couldn’t be happier and more impressed how Alexia has taught our daughter over the last two months. She can now play multiple songs with both hands. Alexia is a fantastic teacher and person - couldn’t recommend highly enough!

Alexia is my math tutor 2x a week for a while. She’s really organised and has showed me her old math tests from like idk year 8-9. Then she gives me a copy to do in timed conditions. She’s just really good overall.
Alexia provides ongoing support and encouragement to my son. She is always available to answer questions and provide additional assistance outside of tutoring sessions.
I like Alexa to teach my son piano because it provides a convenient and interactive learning experience. With Alexia, my son can learn at his own pace and have access to a wide range of resources and lessons. She’s a reasonable person, responsible and the prices are good too.
Alexia used to tutor my son last year, and she was a lovely teacher. She has patience, poise and is very responsible. Alexia tried her very best, when she tutored my son. She would provide numerous worksheets for various topics. When Mitch had his first session with her, she asked questions to get to know him and his passions in life and to see what he knows and does not know in a short quiz/test. In order for her to tailor their sessions together. 100% would recommend! !!
