About Sophia
"I have 7 years of experience teaching violin and helping students develop strong musical skills through supportive lessons. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Early Music with a focus on Baroque Violin, which has given me a deep understanding of classical training and historical performance. I enjoy combining traditional techniques with modern musical exploration.
My lessons focus on bowing technique, vibrato, phrasing, and expressive interpretation to help students create meaningful performances. I guide students in developing strong foundations while encouraging their own musical voice and creativity. I believe every piece has its own character, and I help students discover how to communicate that through sound.
I support students with exam preparation and ensemble guidance by building confidence, accuracy, and musical awareness. I have worked with learners at different levels and adapt lessons to match their individual goals. For example, I help students improve challenging sections by combining technical exercises with expressive practice.
My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and focused on long-term growth. I look forward to helping you develop your violin skills and discover the joy of expressive music making."

"My violin teaching approach uses technology to make learning more engaging, clear, and effective for students. I include tools like metronome apps, tuning software, slow motion video playback, and backing tracks to support steady improvement. These resources help students develop rhythm coordination, pitch accuracy, posture awareness, and expressive tone matching.
I use video feedback to help students understand their playing and notice small improvements over time. For example, reviewing a recording together can help a student adjust bow movement or posture for a more comfortable and beautiful sound. This makes practice more focused and easier to follow.
I also use backing tracks and creative exercises to help students connect emotionally with the music they play. Students who enjoy technology can use these tools to track progress, explore ideas, and build confidence through guided practice. My lessons combine structure, creativity, and personal expression.
I believe technology should support musical growth while keeping the joy of playing at the center. I help students develop strong habits, improve their tone, and feel more confident in their progress. With the right tools and guidance, you can enjoy a creative and rewarding violin journey."
