About James
I have ample experience when it comes to child care, having worked at a charity camp every summer since 2010 and have in-class practical experience from University. Camp was where I discovered a love for education and for guiding young people to find their best self. Being a charity camp, I have had the benefit of leading and learning from a beautifully diverse group of young individuals who are truly deserving of support and attention from positive role models. I also enjoyed 2 practicums at elementary schools during university. These taught me how to take my energetic passion for child care and turn it into the ability to educate in a classroom, all while maintaining the skills to adapt to situations and have fun. I believe that my academic and in-field experience make me the best possible candidate when it comes to impromptu teaching. My academic abilities and proficiency in French make me capable of handling any curriculum necessary and my love for teaching will ensure that your students are not only learning, but having fun doing it.

The best way for a student to learn something is by discovering an understanding of the topic on their own. To encourage this, my lessons are discussion based. My 4 main strategies are as follows: 1. Collaborative: Work together to share ideas and build knowledge 2. Interactive: Students are engaged with the material and can contribute to the discussion 3. Critical thinking: Students learn to evaluate and comprehend subject material 4. Formative assessment: Discussions are used to check students' understanding of subject after lesson
