About Bonisanani
My name is Bonisanani, and my surname is Ngubane. I am a Bachelor of Education graduate from the University of KwaZulu-Natal Edgewood. I come from one the most disadvantaged rural areas, a small village called kwaJikijiki, near Greytown under uMvoti local municipality.
The reason I became a teacher is that, I want my learners to make connections with what we learn. I want them to develop and articulate a clear and coherent geographical, as well as historical narrative. Moreover, I want them to make connections between events and people and institutions, to understand the forces of cause and effect, and change over time. I use charts and diagrams and other visual representations to show relationships
During lessons, I engage learners with vibrant historical themes art, literature, economic theory, and strategic analysis. I am sensitive to the learners’ backgrounds and goals in my classes and aiming to connect with their personal experience. Among the academic disciplines, in my subjects I offer unique perspective on learners and the world. Students are at the center of my lesson planning process. My first goal is to create an atmosphere that encourages participation and involvement.
To advance my knowledge for teaching I do reflection every time after teaching which includes reviewing, reconstructing, reenacting, and critically analyzing my own teaching. I learn to observe outcomes and determine the reasons for success or failure. I also familiarize myself with YouTube of videos of good teachers explaining how to become a good teacher. I strive to know my subject content so that I can advance myself in teaching.
