About Chloe
Hello! I am a patient and friendly university student who is finishing her second year at university and hoping to support the learning of other students and develop my own skills along the way!
I am very committed to my own studies and have worked hard in order to be able to attend university. I am a part of the first generation from each side of my family who has been able to attend university, and am the recipient of several scholarships awarded on academic merit in order to support my access to a tertiary level education.
I would approach the tutoring of my students with the same dedication which I have shown throughout my own education. Despite my university commitments I have strong time management skills and a sufficient amount of time to work hard towards developing study plans and practices aimed at developing the individual skills of the student. My goal would be to ensure that a student is getting the most out of each session and benefiting meaningfully through my tutoring.

I'm happy to tutor students at various levels and ages, from primary school to high school.
I am able develop study plans for both beginners or more advanced students. If a student is in need of extra support in vocabulary memorization or in understanding and applying grammar structures, I would develop lesson plans structured upon vocabulary and comprehension practice. If a student is in need of extra hours for speaking practice in a comfortable environment, I can offer tutorials focused developing their confidence in everyday conversation and pronunciation. Furthermore, I can offer detailed support in essay writing and more advanced skills from my extensive experience in HSC Advanced level English classes.
Overall, I will focus on developing structured, but personal, student focused study plans. These study plans will be directed at the level, study goals and study habits of the individual student in order to ensure tutoring sessions are most effective.
The length of tutoring sessions are flexible and negotiable depending on the goals of the individual student. However an hour would provide a effective amount of time to address and expand upon weekly content the student is specifically in need of assistance with, or provide guidance and extra support in homework. An hour would also provide a suitable amount of time to work through any extra questions or modules I would prepare for that week, which would be dependent on the study level of the student. This may include grammar and comprehension practice, conversation practice, or the development of study skills and essay writing skills.
Furthermore, I have two years tertiary level experience with learning Mandarin. This may make tutoring a bit more comfortable for students with Mandarin (中文) as their first language. This experience also means that on top of my extensive understanding of the English language, I have an understanding of both the effective and not so effective approaches to learning another language and developing language skills.
