About Ken
ABOUT KEN
I’m an award winning WGA screenwriter and failed baseball player. When I realized I couldn't hit a 95 mph fastball, I turned to my other passion - writing.
I was lucky enough to sell my first script and never looked back. Since then I’ve written over two dozen screenplays and worked with most of the major studios and some interesting indie companies. I write both comedy and drama - the key is always finding a good story.
One of my movies, Tom, Dick & Harriet, a romantic comedy, received several award nominations, including a Nymphe d’Or for Best Picture, the top Prize at the prestigious Monte Carlo Film Festival, and a Leo, also for Best Picture. In addition, The New York Times gave the movie a big thumbs up.
I have also taught screenwriting and, more recently, to pay it forward, became a screenwriting mentor at New York’s Big Apple Film Festival, which has been instrumental in launching many filmmaking careers.

I’ve been a WGA member and working screenwriter for over 20 years and have an intimate knowledge of how the industry works. I have also taught screenwriting and been a mentor at the Big Apple Film Festival, which has helped launch the careers of many aspiring filmmakers.
No matter what level you are - a beginner writing your first script or someone looking to take your work to the next level, I can help. Together we can work on story, structure, character development, dialogue and the all important longline - whatever it takes to make your screenplay stand out. I will tailor lessons specifically for you. And if you already have a finished screenplay and just want feedback/notes, I can give you that too.
We will also discuss marketing both your screenplay as well as yourself, how to get an agent or manager and which one is best for you, how to write a good query email (and what not to write), the art of pitching, tips to network in person and online including industry sites you should join, and what are the best screenwriting contests.
Our goal will be for you to have a finished screenplay, the tools to write more scripts, and a roadmap to navigate the film industry to give you the best chance to succeed.

Details
In addition to lessons I offer script consultation. If you want me to read material in advance, it's $1.75 per page with margin notes - detailed feedback right on your pages - that we can discuss during the lesson.
I also offer for $3.50 a page a complete written overview of your work covering structure, characters, dialogue, flow and execution.
