About Natalie
Award-winning designer with 5+ years industry experience, a First Class Bachelor's of Art degree in Product & Furniture design, A* in A-level Graphics Communication and a passion for teaching, I provide tailored lessons to help you craft the best design portfolio that reflects your amazing skill set & creative mind.
My current practice is at an international creative agency and have worked on projects with clients such as Nike, Google, Deckers to name a few. Previously I have worked at a small furniture practice where I designed and created one of the industry's first foam-free sofa.
Getting into the design industry can be challenging and frightening at times, I would like to pass on my knowledge and experience to emerging designers to help them make their way into the industry.

I'm a patient, enthusiastic and personable tutor, my lessons are here to help students in all steps of their creative journey, from A-levels to Art & Design diploma to fresh B(A) graduates. My aim is to help students gain confidence in their work, provide guidance and industry knowledge along the way.
I offer a 30 mins free 1st lesson to help students decide if they'd like to work with me, I understand how important it is to find a tutor students feel comfortable working with :)
Who are my lessons for?
1. A-level students applying for design & art university / foundation courses
2. Freshly graduated university students looking to apply for role in their early career
3. A-level & Bachelors Design students looking to update their portfolio & projects ready for any internship applications
What to expect?
My first lesson is getting to know my students, what they're passionate about Art & Design, what specific interests do they have within it, what their short / long term goal would be, and hopefully have a look at where they are at with their portfolio if they have one.
From then we will help craft what the objectives would be, assigning my students range of art & design tasks to help build their portfolio / sharpen their skills. I am always here to provide constructive feedback with actionable points on how to take your discipline further. And you can expect us working in a collaborative way, Miro (online whiteboard) will mainly be used throughout the lesson. It is a common industry tool which will help students to be familiar with it before getting into the industry.
Portfolio & CV building:
- Understand the purpose and function of a design portfolio
- Develop a strategic approach to portfolio curation
- Learn how to effectively present design work
- Gain insights into portfolio platforms and formats
From the above we...
- Identify what the purpose of the portfolio is for, is it for University application or early career job application etc.
- look at multiple examples of design portfolios
- identify gaps and analyse the range of projects that my students have
- help student create their brand identity
- Assign tasks in response to gaps identified for students to improve their portfolio
Generic Design tutoring :
Review students current projects and provide constructive feedback and strategies to develop further. Teach students generic design principles to be applied across their practice.
