About Maria
Over the last 19 years, I have taught children and adults (primary level to university and beyond) many different subjects including English, Mathematics, History, Latin, Greek, Literature, Writing and ESL. I really love teaching! My qualifications include two bachelor's degrees, one in history and another in English with minors in Latin and linguistics. I also have a master's degree in Classical Languages (Greek & Latin) and completed 5 years of my Ph.D. in medieval Irish before going on maternity leave. I recently received my TEFL cert. Additionally, I received the Jack Kent Cooke Fellowship and many other awards and scholarships during my academic studies. While keeping up with my demanding teaching schedule, I have found time to present papers at conferences, write articles in a few publications, and co-author a chapter in a book. I have a very flexible schedule as well as teaching style and am happy to accommodate students' preferred timetables and special requests. I look forward to talking with you!
