About Ismaaeel
My name is Ismaaeel. I graduated in 2021, during the pandemic. During that time I had to juggle my degree whilst working as an accounts assistant. After I graduated, I began my ACA qualification with a Big 4 accounting firm as an Auditor, which I am still doing. I've been tutoring for almost 2 years now. I've always appreciated the psychology behind tutoring and teaching. Back in university, I was that student who was always helping my peers to understand difficult concepts, and it always made me happy when, after ages of not understanding, that "aha!" moment happens, and you see the smile and relief on someone's face when the concept clicks and makes sense. That feeling is priceless to me and I've always wanted to continue doing that.

During my degree and work life, I realised that people work and study very differently. As your tutor, your lessons will be tailored to suit the learning style that suits you, whether it's visual, auditory, kinaesthetic or written/reading. My lessons are fun and engaging to ensure the best chance of information retention. A typical lesson will be firstly assessing your level of knowledge on the subject and seeing which areas you need improvement. Thereafter, we will jump straight into questions which we will walk through together. From my experience, the best way to do well in exams is to tackle exam questions as early as possible. This will allow us to identify where you need more improvement, and I can then focus my teaching in those areas. And finally, there is a presumption that accounting is a very boring subject which you typically fall asleep with! I can guarantee that after my lessons, you will be more motivated and actually enjoy the content! I will do this with the odd story from my work experience in a Big 4 firm as an accountant. This will help you to understand the context behind the content you are learning.
