About Kevin
My story
During my HSC years, I have acquired multiple state ranks in English Advanced, Maths Extension 1, Chemistry and IPT. These achievements are not simply testaments to my understanding of these subjects but are also representative of the wealth of knowledge that I have to pass onto students who have yet to sit the HSC, especially with regards to time management, study habits, mentality and exam techniques.
As someone who studied an accelerated IPT preliminary course in Year 9, I have spent four years preparing for the HSC in the hopes of achieving a good ATAR. Over these four years I have constantly been faced with the harsh reality that I'm not as smart and gifted as other people and thus I was forced to develop personal ways to study effectively in order to stay academically competitive. I believe that the experiences regarding academic studies (and life in general) that I have accumulated over these years are invaluable and I wish to pass them on to current students so that they can excel in the HSC.
Throughout high school, I have been heavily involved in teaching other students. Initially I worked as a marker for a selective tutoring company and soon got my own class, helping my students gain entrance to their desired selective schools. On top of that, I have also played a part in teaching my fellow classmates and cohort. Whether it be topics that they are unsure of or content that they have yet to learn, I have always been more than keen to offer my help. As a result of my participation and experience in these teaching opportunities, I have become familiar with the different learning capabilities that students may possess and thus am able to adapt my teaching to provide personalised teaching in order to suit the needs of every student. Also, my teaching style will place an emphasis on developing in-depth understandings of syllabus concepts rather than rote-learning so that my students are able to readily adapt their knowledge to questions that they have never seen before, allowing them to achieve that maximum academic potential.

Hi, I'm Kevin and I graduated as the dux of North Sydney Boys in 2019 with an ATAR of 99.95 and 4 state ranks. Currently, I am studying a double degree of Science and Medicine at the University of Sydney. I have been tutoring for 5 years and the majority of my students have acquired high band 6 scores in the HSC, allowing them to gain entrance into their desired university degrees.
I am currently offering weekly, fortnightly lessons and any one-off lessons in the subjects that I specialise in teaching - Maths (Advanced and Extension 1), English Advanced, Chemistry and Information Processes and Technology (IPT) as well as interview training for medicine!
As a student who was part of the 2019 cohort that underwent the NEW syllabi changes for both Chemistry and English Advanced, I am extremely familiar with the demands involved in these courses and thus possess the knowledge to guide and assist students in achieving their desired results. I also possess a large amount of resources that will help prepare students for the HSC, such as past papers and textbooks.
