About Natisha

I am a qualified Primary School Teacher with over 15 years of teaching experience, currently working as an EYFS/KS1 Lead, Phonics Specialist, and Assistant Headteacher. I am passionate about supporting young children in developing strong foundations in phonics, early reading, writing, and maths.

I chose teaching because I love helping children grow in confidence and discover a love of learning from an early age. I believe every child learns differently, and I enjoy creating engaging, supportive lessons that are tailored to each child’s individual needs.

With extensive experience in early years and primary education, I understand how important the early stages of learning are in shaping a child’s confidence and future success. My approach is warm, encouraging, and nurturing, helping children feel relaxed, motivated, and proud of their progress.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed to feel calm, engaging, and supportive, helping children develop confidence alongside strong academic foundations. I create a nurturing environment where children feel safe to take risks, ask questions, and enjoy learning at their own pace.

Each session is carefully tailored to the individual child’s needs, interests, and stage of development. I use a gentle, encouraging approach alongside clear structure and routine, which helps children feel secure and motivated throughout the lesson.

For younger learners, sessions are interactive and playful, incorporating games, stories, practical activities, and multi-sensory learning to keep children engaged and excited. Within phonics and early reading, I focus on building confidence in blending, segmenting, fluency, comprehension, and a genuine enjoyment of books and language.

I use the PACE approach — Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy — throughout my teaching, helping children feel emotionally supported as well as academically challenged. This is particularly helpful for children who may feel anxious, lack confidence, or need additional reassurance within learning.

My aim is not only to help children make progress in reading, writing, and maths, but also to help them feel proud of themselves, resilient, and excited to learn.
