About Giselle

Hello, my name is Giselle, and I am passionate about helping students develop confidence and success in learning Spanish. I have earned my bachelor’s degrees in Spanish and Communication, and I am currently working toward my single-subject teaching credential in Spanish as well as my bilingual authorization.

I have several years of experience working with students of different ages and learning backgrounds. I have worked with Fresno Unified School District as a Summer Teacher Assistant for three years and as an after-school program tutor for one year. I have also volunteered as a Spanish tutor at Jackson Elementary, where I worked with kindergarten students who needed additional support in developing their Spanish skills. Additionally, I spent half a year in Costa Rica tutoring elementary students from first through sixth grade in Spanish and other subjects.

Throughout my experiences with students, I have developed a strong understanding that every learner is unique and benefits from different teaching approaches. My goal is to create lessons that are engaging, supportive, and personalized to each student’s needs. I incorporate a variety of strategies, including conversation practice, interactive activities, vocabulary development, reading and writing exercises, and real-life examples to help students build both their skills and confidence.

Beyond my classroom experience, I have participated in programs such as CTFF and Teaching Fellows, which have strengthened my passion for education and working with young learners. I have also gained additional experience through babysitting and tutoring for two years, allowing me to better understand how to support students academically while creating a positive and encouraging learning environment.

As a bilingual English and Spanish speaker, I understand the importance of language learning and the opportunities it can provide. I believe learning Spanish can open many doors for students, whether it is through future education, career opportunities, travel, or connecting with different cultures. I love helping students discover that learning a language is more than memorizing words—it is about communication, confidence, and expanding their world.

My goal as a tutor is to make every student feel supported, valued, and capable of reaching their goals while developing a lifelong appreciation for the Spanish language.

Learning a new language should feel exciting, supportive, and practical. My goal as a tutor is to create a comfortable learning environment where students feel confident asking questions, making mistakes, and growing their Spanish skills at their own pace.

I am currently studying to become a Spanish teacher, which has given me a strong understanding of effective teaching strategies and how students learn best. I believe every student learns differently, so I try to tailor each lesson to their individual needs, goals, and learning style. Whether you are a beginner, need help with a Spanish class, or want to improve your conversational skills, I will adapt my lessons to help the student succeed.

A typical lesson begins with a quick review of previous material before introducing a new concept. We then practice through interactive activities such as conversations, vocabulary games, reading passages, grammar exercises, pronunciation practice, and real-life scenarios. I also provide a handful of opportunities for students to ask questions and receive constructive feedback so they leave each lesson feeling more confident.

What sets me apart is my patience, encouragement, and passion for teaching. As a future educator, I understand that building confidence is just as important as learning grammar and vocabulary. I strive to make every lesson engaging, personalized, and enjoyable while helping students achieve measurable progress. Working in a tutoring center in Costa Rica helped me understand the importance of building confidence within all students.

I want my lessons to be designed for elementary, middle school, high school, and college students, as well as adult learners who want to improve their Spanish for school, work, travel, or personal enrichment. Whether you are preparing for exams, completing homework assignments, or just looking to become more fluent, I am committed to helping reach peoples goals.
