I am an artist obsessed with language and speak fluent conversational English and Spanish. To me, the best form of teaching is reciprocal, meaning we are all both teachers and students.

About Daniel

I am an educator and artist trained as an architect, holding an undergraduate degree in Fine Art, a graduate degree in Architecture and a post-graduate Masters degree in Pedagogy. My first and foremost passion is in teaching, and my specific interest in teaching language comes from my belief that language itself is the generator of all things. I also think designing buildings is incredibly boring. Teaching is way more fun!

My goal is not to teach you how to speak Spanish.

My goal is to teach you how to think (not what to think), and through that process, you will naturally acquire the skill of speaking Spanish, with relatively little effort. I have met adults with accredited degrees in Spanish language, yet can't speak more than a few sentences. Meanwhile a 5-7 year old child can learn to speak fluently within only a matter of months.

There is a reason for this.

The etymology of the word "language" itself comes from Latin root "lingua", meaning tongue. Language is first and foremost physical, not conceptual. It is a pattern of mouth shapes and vocal sounds in which "meaning" comes secondary. Therefore, in my teaching methodology, we intentionally defer meaning, focusing first on developing muscle memory. From this memory, meaning arrives on its own.

My teaching methods center around the use of large language models like ChatGPT and Claude AI. The key to learning a new language quickly is in absorption, not in memorization. By using AI, we can quickly generate ideas relevant to each specific student's unique interests and life experience rather than working from a rigid preconceived curriculum. With this method, it is possible to teach any one, at any age or level of prior knowledge.

From there, I will build a series of exercises catered to each individual student to first learn to make things sound "correct", all this before knowing what anything you are saying necessarily "means".

It requires patience and discipline at first, but once you develop the muscle memory, you will be astounded at how quickly your mind figures out "what it means" all on its own.
I firmly believe that you already have what it takes to learn a new language easily, the key is in removing the cognitive blocks we as adults have all had embedded in us. This is not a self-help course, but through my teaching methods you might mistakenly learn something new about yourself!
