About Akash
About My Teaching Approach As an artist and educator, I believe that art is not only about skill but also about curiosity and reflection. My approach to teaching combines creative practice with thoughtful discussion, helping students develop both their technique and their understanding of art in context. I hold a Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture from Visva Bharati University, India, and my background includes both studio-based work and research in modern, postmodern, and contemporary art theory. This balance allows me to guide students in a way that connects making with meaning. My lessons are usually one hour long, and I adapt the pace and structure according to each student’s goals. Sessions can include practical guidance in drawing or sculpture, art history discussions, or essay and portfolio preparation for students pursuing higher studies. I have worked with learners from different backgrounds and levels — from beginners exploring art for personal growth to advanced students developing academic or professional portfolios. I usually start by discussing what interests or challenges you most — this helps shape lessons that are meaningful to you. My classes often include looking at artworks, analysing visual ideas, and connecting them with broader cultural or philosophical contexts. A typical lesson lasts about one hour, though I’m flexible depending on your pace and focus. I completed my Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture from Visva Bharati University, India, and have experience in both creating and teaching art. I enjoy guiding students in practical art-making, art writing, and understanding modern, postmodern, and contemporary art. My lessons are suitable for students of all levels — from beginners exploring art for the first time to university students working on portfolios or essays.
